Lets have a look at TestoRipped and the company behind it and see what all the fuss is about. Will it live up to the hype?
TestoRipped is a supplement owned by Nutripharm, LLC a company based in Utah, USA. The company own a number of other similar supplements, such as Abidexin, Apidren, Slimrexin, Appexit and Fenphedra to name the popular ones.
This supplement is clearly aimed at guys claiming to be a “hardcore men’s diet pill”, looking into the ingredients there is nothing hardcore in this pill!
Long list of side effects reported by the manufacturer and the truth is no studies on the supplement to know how safe it is.
Testoripped contains caffeine and other stimulants so anyone who is susceptible to the side effects of caffeine should be careful.
From the official website there are three packages available, one bottle costs $49.99, two bottles $99.99 and 3 bottles for $149.99. Free US shippings on two bottles or more but International shoppers will buy a fairly hefty shipping fee.
DO NOT BUY TESTORIPPED!
You would have no idea of exactly what you were ingesting with Testoripped. Couple this with the fact it comes from Utah, and the two named ingredients have warnings about them, then we have no hesitation in rejecting Testoripped.
Okay, lets start by having a look at the website for Testoripped and see what we can find.
Straight from the off, it looks like the style of site that would be produced in the diet pill scam capital, Utah. We do a quick check on the domain and not surprisingly see its owned by now Nutripharm, LLC (previously R. Walker Companies LLC), based guess where? Yup, good old Utah. We won’t let this cloud our judgement though, lets carry on looking at the product based on its merits.
The site itself is well designed, using some deep moody blacks and yellows. It sure looks good, but can it deliver on its promises?
Okay, here we go with some pretty way out claims:
If you want incredibly fast strength, massive power gains, lean muscle gains, a pre-workout energy amplifier, and the ULTIMATE muscle-defining diet pill for men, the YOU WANT TestoRIPPED! There is NO other men’s diet pill available that delivers STENGTH, POWER, LEAN MUSCLE, ENERGY GAINS, and FAT LOSS
Wow! Pretty impressive eh?
Unfortunately it’s all complete rubbish, purely subjective and as far from the truth as you can possibly get…but it sure reads well!
To claim something is the “ultimate muscle-defining diet pill” is one of the most outrageous claims we have seen. The “ultimate” based on what factors? To then go on and say, “There is NO other men’s diet pill available” is also pretty laughable. How do they know?
Never mind, lets move on from the crazy claims and see what else we can find.
The makers of Testoripped have admitted they have not done any studies on the product itself and how it interacts with the human body. Going on the evidence presented by the clinical hospital in Sweden then we feel it would take a brave person to actually consume Testoripped.
Even the slightest doubts about potentially dangerous levels of an ingredient should be taken extremely seriously. It’s your health you are playing with here after all.
Testoripped potentially contains some strong ingredients, but with no indication of how much of each ingredient then it is not possible to make an informed decision into whether or not it works. As they are using a “proprietary blend” then this stops us investigating any further. It would not be advisable to consume something if you have no idea what is in it.
For the quantities of ingredients they have to show by law, then one of them (Chromium) has been shown not to work for weight loss, and the other (Vitamin B12) has been shown to potentially increase the risk of Prostate Cancer when taken at high doses.
So we know so far it’s the greatest thing ever invented but what is the science behind these claims?
Well the makers of Testoripped are using the good old “proof by association” technique. Here they add a load of ingredients to a diet pill, and then quote clinical research into each of these ingredients that show they are effective for weight loss, muscle building, or whatever else they are trying to claim.
Unfortunately they don’t actually tell you how much of each ingredient is contained in the diet pills, so that you can make an informed decision. They do this by using a “proprietary formula”; in this case they actually call it a “Strength Enhancing/ Muscle Building Matrix.”
This technique is usually used to hide the exact amount of ingredients, so that investigation sites like this one can’t pick holes in their claims. It also means they can add the smallest amount of the expensive ingredients and fill it with the cheaper filler ingredients.
One thing we did find encouraging though was the neat disclaimer in the text:
Although we believe there is science supporting the beneficial nutritional effects of the individual ingredients of Testoripped, you should know that no randomized, double-blind placebo controlled clinical trials have been conducted on the efficacy of the particular combinations and dosages of those ingredients as found in Testoripped
So it’s okay that they make these crazy claims as long as they add a disclaimer to say it might not actually work!
Lets have a closer look at these ingredients (that might or might not work) shall we:
The first two have to show their exact quantity, as they are vitamins and minerals with advised daily amounts, these are Chromium and Vitamin B12.
Chromium supplements are sometimes claimed to reduce body fat and increase lean (muscle) mass. Yet a recent review of 24 studies that examined the effects of 200 to 1,000 mcg/day of chromium (in the form of chromium picolinate) on body mass or composition found no significant benefits
And
In several studies, chromium’s effects on body weight and composition may be called into question
THIS WOULD GIVE YOU A MASSIVE SERVING OF 83,332% OF THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT PER DAY.
That’s 833 times more than the Government recommends!!
So what’s wrong with that?
Well here’s the scary part. The National Institute of Health have published findings from studies done by the Umea Clinical Hospital in Sweden that show an increase in Vitamin B12 consumption can lead to a 3 times increased chance of Prostate Cancer:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15499634?dopt=Abstract
Our results suggest that factors contributing to folate status are not protective against prostate cancer. On the contrary, vitamin B12, associated with an up to 3-fold increase in risk, and possibly also folate, may even stimulate prostate cancer development.
Would you be happy taking 833 times the recommended amount of B12?
There is no suggestion that Testoripped could cause Cancer in those taking it, but any sensible person would think twice about taking 833 times the recommended amount of B12, for a period of 6 months wouldn’t they? This would be what you were doing if you bought the full package of Testoripped.
No studies have been done either into the effectiveness of Testoripped or indeed if there are any side effects from ingesting the mix that they have come up with. There could possibly be long-term damage to the body, as shown above.
Testoripped contains caffeine and other stimulants so anyone who is susceptible to the side effects of caffeine should be careful.
Caution: The website actually provides a long list of people who should avoid it, including those with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes or anyone with cardiovascular disease.
There’s one dubious looking review on the site itself by someone claiming to have used Testoripped and seen results. We found no other positive reviews anywhere on the internet.
There is a 90-day guarantee shown, but there are numerous stories of people buying from companies based in Utah, struggling to actually get a refund.
Testoripped is available online from the official site as well as a number of affiliates. Sadly it is registered in Utah and has links to the Garrett Devore and Gadd Formulas Empire.
