We will be taking a close look at Staunch Burning Man, to see whether it could really live up to these claims and to decide whether it is safe to take.
Staunch Burning Man is a weight loss and energy supplement, that aims to accelerate your fat-burning efforts so that you can achieve your goals. It uses stimulants alongside thermogenic ingredients such as Capsimax and ThermoDiamine.
This product contains a lot of different stimulants, including 200mg of caffeine anhydrous in one single recommended serving which is 3 capsules, which is around half of the recommended daily limit. Add to that the green tea in this supplement, and you are looking at going over the recommended amount in a single dose, leading to the many side effects associated with that.
The product is manufactured in the US by a company called Staunch Nation. However, we have been able to find very little else out about the company other than one of their co-founders is called Calum Von Moger, an Australian bodybuilder who calls his customers ‘chapsticks’. The lack of information to be found about this supplement company concerns us.
There are lots of potential side effects from the high caffeine content, including headache, insomnia, irritability, diarrhoea, nausea, increased heart rate and breathing, and high blood pressure.
There are very scary warnings associated with Yohimbe which is contained in the product. It can cause extreme anxiety in individuals that are predisposed to anxiety as well as triggering manic psychosis or suicidal episodes in people with bipolar disorder. It can also interact with a large amount of neurological medications.
Possible side effects of consuming Forskolin include headaches, a decrease in blood pressure, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, fatigue, lack of concentration, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, heartburn, indigestion, and stomach cramps. Forskolin may also interact with prescribed medications, especially blood thinners and blood pressure medications.
Hordenine is a stimulant ingredient extracted from some plants. It is incredibly understudied in humans, but as it acts as a stimulant its side effects are likely to include increased heart rate and blood pressure, heart palpitations, fainting, muscle disorders, seizures, irregular heartbeat, loss of consciousness, strokes, heart attacks, and death in previously healthy patients.
Stauch Burning Man costs $39.00 for one bottle, $72.00 for two bottles, and $99.00 for three.
Staunch Burning Man contains many ingredients that are either lacking in scientific support or are underdosed, such as Coleus Forskohlii and Hordenine. This means that their impact upon weight loss can only be guessed at.
Other ingredients such as green tea and caffeine have been thoroughly researched, and are known to increase thermogenesis and the metabolism. However, due to the presence of these as well as other stimulant ingredients, consumers should reduce their caffeine intake from other sources when taking this product.
L-Carnitine Tartrate is here in good levels of 1,000mg in a daily dose of 3 capsules. It is often used as a brain booster, due to its ability to increase alertness and mitochondrial capacity. It is also linked with fat burning, but studies do not show very good results and any fat loss seen is likely to be from the increased activity a person may do from the increased energy they have from supplementation.
There is Yohimbe extract too, but it is very under-dosed and it also linked to severe anxiety-related side effects which are a huge concern. Yohimbe has already been banned in some countries, including Canada.
Due to all of these concerns, we do not recommend Staunch Burning Man to our readers.
Staunch Burning Man is a thermogenic fat burner supplement, meaning that it contains ingredients that will help to increase the metabolism and raise body temperature which also helps you burn off those extra calories more easily. The supplement also promises increased energy and elevated mood.
The principle ingredient of Burning Man is L Carnitine Tartrate. This is a supplement form of Carnitine, a substance that the body produces naturally. Carnitine helps the body use fatty acids to produce energy, and there is some evidence it may improve exercise performance.
Other ingredients include caffeine anhydrous and green tea for enhanced energy, and an added stimulant called Hordenine.
There are no directions on how to take this supplement.
Staunch Burning Man also contains Capsimax, a branded pepper supplement, which is included as the thermogenic part of the formula. As we all know, eating hot spicy chilli peppers can cause you to break out in a sweat because of the rise in body temperature. The thinking is that this pepper supplement will fulfil the same purpose.
Burning Man is manufactured by Staunch Nation, a US company who also offer lots of different supplements and products for weight loss and bodybuilding. They do not have an ‘About’ page on their website and we have been able to find very little information about them, which does not fill us with confidence. They do offer a 90-day money-back guarantee which sounds great, but it is hard to know whether they will really fulfill this.
Staunch Burning Man claims to provide a consumer with astounding weight loss and suppress the appetite, increase energy, and elevate mood.
We think it is likely that Staunch Burning Man will provide a stimulant effect. It contains a few different stimulants (including a high dose of caffeine), so the consumer is likely to notice increased energy levels which could mean that you work harder at the gym, but could also leave you feeling jittery and unwell.
The L Carnitine Tartrate could increase a users alertness, so could help you to focus more during workouts.
However, there is not enough scientific evidence to support the use of many of its ingredients, and there is nothing to suggest it would suppress the appetite either.
There are lots of potential side effects from the high caffeine content:
There are very scary warnings associated with Yohimbe. It can cause extreme anxiety in individuals that are predisposed to anxiety, as well as triggering manic psychosis or suicidal episodes in people with bipolar disorder. It can also interact with a large amount of neurological medications.
Possible side effects of consuming Forskolin include:
Forskolin may also interact with prescribed medications, especially blood thinners and blood pressure medications.
Hordenine is incredibly understudied in humans, but as it acts as a stimulant its side effects are likely to include:
Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. If you are taking any medications or are unsure about the suitability of this supplement for you, consult your doctor before purchase.
There are numerous reviews on the Staunch website, via external company Votpo, but these are for all of their products, not just this one. The reviews say that they are verified buyers, but it is difficult to know whether these are genuine or not.
There are many negative reviews so it does appear that some at least are in fact genuine, however these aren’t shown until page 12 of the reviews so it is unlikely that most customers will get far enough to see them. Many of the positive reviews seem exaggerated and unrealistic too.
An example of a positive review includes:
The burning pills do the work, ive been using it for a week gotten my results right away. Sumer body here i come!
The negative reviews include mention of very poor customer service and the product not working at all:
15 min after taking this my stomach hurts for about 10 minutes. That’s all, no changes to anything, no better workouts, no improved anything.
They do claim to offer a 90-day money-back guarantee, however it is hard to know if it will really be fulfilled. They say:
If you’re not satisfied for ANY REASON, simply call or email us within 90 days for return instruction. This guarantee applies to one used and all unused bottles in resalable condition. What do you have to lose? Get your freak on now!
You can buy it from the official website for $39.00. It is also currently available on Amazon US.
