SeroVital HGH comes from a US company called San Medica International. The supplement was launched onto the market in 2012, and was featured on the Dr Oz show shortly afterwards. SeroVital HGH is comprised of amino acids supposed to increase human growth hormone, but San Medica has been sued by some disgruntled customers who say it just does not work.
SeroVital HGH is a currently hot supplement that promises you a way to turn back the signs of ageing. Of course this idea sounds appealing, and many people are turning to this “fountain of youth” supplement in vast numbers. The fact that SanMedica have patent protected the amino acid formula makes it seem even more convincing. The problem is that although the only clinical trial carried out did temporarily raise HGH levels as claimed, there are no real details about how long this effect will last or how it will benefit users.
In our opinion you can’t really turn back the clock on your body, and this expensive supplement which claims to do just that is extremely unlikely to work as described. Customers have sued for this reason. We are concerned that if you buy from the site you are encouraged to sign up to auto ship, and this seems to suggest that San Medica may not be as reputable as they claim. We feel this supplement has a snake oil feel to it, and that San Medica are more like snake oil salesmen than they are cutting edge scientists on the brink of a new discovery.
Potential side effects include; abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headaches.
SeroVital HGH is very expensive. If you buy from the San Medica website it costs $99 for 120 capsules or 1 month’s supply.
San Medica offer a discount if you sign up to auto ship as a “preferred customer” and agree to have fresh supplies delivered every 28 days. This option costs $79.20.
We could not find how customers cancel this agreement in the terms and conditions. We would not advise anyone to sign up to auto ship because these types of agreements can be extremely problematic to cancel.
You can also buy SeroVital HGH via stores and online retailers including Costco and GNC so you can shop around for price. We found it on sale at GNC for $79.99.
There is a lot of hype around SeroVital HGH but we just do not trust this supplement. The so called clinical evidence is unsubstantial and unproven to increase HGH levels long term.
Yes the small clinical test showed a temporary elevation of HGH levels after 120 minutes, but we would have preferred to have known what happened after a couple of hours taking for example, and whether this amino acid formula had long lasting positive effects.
It is important to note that a couple of customers have attempted to sue San Medica for false claims made in advertising.
In addition, at just under $100 a month, SeroVital HGH is very expensive. We are concerned that San Medica is encouraging customers to sign up for auto ship, and the fact that there is no information about how to cancel suggests that this agreement may be hard to get out of.
At the end of the day, we all age and there is no supplement in the world anywhere that will work as a magic youth potion. In our opinion, San Medica are just tapping into the need for this type or miracle supplement, but despite the strong marketing it is not going to work as described.
SeroVital HGH is a dietary supplement that contains amino acid ingredients, that the advertising claims will increase the body’s production of growth hormone.
Growth hormone (GH), also known as somatotropin or Human growth hormone is produced in the pituitary gland and its role is to help children and adolescents grow to full size and develop a healthy heart, muscles, and body. As we age, so GH levels decrease and it is this natural depletion that is said to cause the signs of ageing.
The hormone was first isolated from the human pituitary gland in the 1950s and it started being produced synthetically for a range of medical purposes. Footballer Lionel Messi suffered from short stature as a child (he was 4 ft 11) and received growth hormone injections, and it is also prescribed for muscle wasting diseases, AIDs and more.
Most commonly GH is marketed as a way to stay young and because it causes muscle building (anabolic) effects, GH is abused by bodybuilders and athletes. Back in 1982 it was recommended as a doping agent in Dan Duchaine’s “Underground Steroid handbook”. Rumour has it that HGH injections are rife in Hollywood.
HGH injections are banned by the World Doping Agency, but it is becoming a growing problem in sport at a youth and amateur level where testing is not usually undertaken.
SeroVital HGH does not contain human growth hormone and unlike HGH injections is perfectly legal. This supplement contains a blend of amino acids, that the advertising claims will help the body manufacture more growth hormone naturally. Check out the ingredients section of the review to find out more.
The supposed claims are that this supplement will make you stronger, fitter, slimmer and build more muscle. As well as helping you look younger, more attractive, wrinkle free, and better in bed!
SeroVital has attracted a lot of attention, and not all of it in a good way. This supplement was featured on the Dr Oz show in 2012 where it was reviewed very positively, in usual Dr Oz style. However there have been some law suits about this supplement.
One of these was in 2016 when a Californian resident called Paul Martin sued San Medica for false advertising over the claims that SeroVital HGH can boost HGH levels by nearly 700% and reverse the human ageing process. Source
San Medica is based in Salt Lake City Utah. The company sell a range of products all built round SeroVital and include skin creams, eye serum, wrinkle cream, and multi vitamins. SeroVital HGH is the flagship product.
SeroVital HGH is sold by the official website where you are encouraged to sign up to the Preferred Customer Program, in order to have regular supplies of the supplement delivered to your home each month.
The consumer information makes this seem totally reasonable, but in fact auto shipping is not always a sensible option for consumers.
Yes, you get regular deliveries of your chosen product at a discount price, but your bank or credit card is automatically billed too. The worst point about auto ship is that these types of contracts are notoriously difficult to cancel, and many Watchdog readers have reported real difficulties when trying to stop auto bill agreements from many companies.
The first slogan you see when you hit the SeroVital website is
“Turn Back Time With The “Anti-Aging” Breakthrough Everyone Is Talking About!”
According to the advertising,
“It’s no secret that the rich and famous have been visiting some of the most expensive clinics in the world for controversial human growth hormone (HGH) therapy”
We are not sure that this is true. HGH injections are illegal and there is no real evidence that the rich and famous are actually doing this in great numbers.
It continues,
“Why? Because they believe HGH helps reduce body fat, increase lean muscle mass, boost mood, heighten sex drive, give them plenty of energy, get rid of wrinkles, and tighten saggy skin… making them look and feel decades – not years, but decades – younger. In fact, some are even calling it the “Fountain of Youth.””
The product information then explains
“a recent study [on SeroVital-HGH] showed patients given a special blend of amino acids saw their HGH levels spike more than 6 times….
…Now, after more than 20 years of time-consuming, detailed research, there’s finally an affordable oral formula that encourages the pituitary gland to increase growth hormone production naturally, without dangerous drugs or synthetic hormone injections.
San Medica have gone to the trouble of protecting their amino acid formula by taking out 13 patents on this supplement. So the company obviously believe they can sell SeroVital HGH in sufficient quantities. But is this the same as actually proving that the supplement works? We are not so sure it is.
The claims are that this supplement causes growth hormone levels to increase by over 600%. This figure comes from one small clinical test carried out by San Medica on just 16 people all aged in their 30s, over 3 weeks.
The title of the test was,
“Growth Hormone 120 Minutes Following a Single Low-dose of Amino Acids in Healthy Subjects.”
This test is touted across the internet as definitive proof, and the conclusion of the test did show that growth hormone did spike 120 minutes after taking. However the test does not provide us with any information about how long the effects work.
The test concluded
“Our results show that a single oral dose of these amino acids can significantly increase GH Levels after 120 minutes in healthy men and women. Whether these GH changes persist over a longer duration or have other positive effects is being further examined.”
It may work, but whether it will provide any lasting benefits is unknown.
Serving size is equal to 4 capsules. Ingredients are masked by a proprietary blend so we cannot provide a full breakdown of individual quantities.
SeroVital® HGH is comprised of a Proprietary Blend Containing 2.9 g of active ingredients.
SeroVital looks pretty safe and customers have not mentioned any side effects. However potential side effects may include;
Caution:
Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Speak to your physician first if you are taking prescription medication because this supplement may cause interactions. Speak to your physician before taking if you have an underlying medical condition.
SeroVital HGH is on sale from many outlets across the USA including Costco and GNC and many customers have reported their experiences.
There is a range of opinion. Some customers feel that it is working such as this reviewer,
I was skeptical but I tried it, I followed the instructions and it actually seems to be working, I haven’t lost any weight but I have much more energy, my mood has improved, and I feel younger all the way around.
And,
I have been talking this product for for 7 days and I am sleeping so much better. I have more energy and I just feel better overall. I haven’t taken it long enough to notice any skin or fat changes but I will continue to take it for 6 months and see what happens….
Not everyone is as pleased. This customer did not notice any differences,
Useless, I have been taking 4 tablets a day for over months now and nothing. Not one bit of difference in weight, none in the way I feel and nothing in difference of my skin just simply NOTHING!
And,
My wife and I both have been taking the SeroVital Pills. We have followed the instructions by not eating 2 hours before or after taking them. They are large pills and you have to take 4 of them at a time. It has been over a week now and we have not noticed any effect in our energy or weight loss. Continuing to take them religiously, hoping they will have some effect, before the box is gone. Starting to feel like another product that has not lived up to its billing
There is no money back guarantee with SeroVital HGH.
You can buy SeroVital HGH from a wide range of outlets across the USA as well as from online stores. Stockists include CostCo and GNC.
It is not available from Amazon because Amazon refuses to sell products which claim to increase HGH, even though they do actually sell lots of products which do just that. San Medica have complained about this ruling. Source
You can also buy SeroVital HGH direct from the official San Medica website.
