What You Need To Know About Revatrol

Revatrol looks safe. We cannot see any issues associated with side effects and taking resveratrol plus the other ingredients may help boost your health.

Results are unlikely to be earth shaking or fast, but this supplement may do something! We cannot see it as the cure for male impotence though, and the claim that resveratrol is the one reason why Americans are overweight with shorter life spans than French people is sadly over exaggerated. It would be nice to be able to just take a product and make this difference but in truth there are numerous important cultural differences between Americans and the French which account for the differences in average weight and lifestyle between the general population of the two countries.

Reasons include, portion sizes, snacking and the consumption of sodas. That said resveratrol is undergoing clinical investigation for various health benefits so there may one day prove to be good reasons for taking it.

What Are The Side Effects Of Revatrol?

Revatrol does not appear to cause side effects and customer feedback does not mention any adverse reactions.

How Much Does Revatrol Cost?

One month’s supply (30 caplets) costs $39.95 plus $7.95 shipping and handling to US addresses.

Make sure to avoid ticking the Preferred Customer Discount Program (PCDP) box. This may sound like a good deal, but in reality you are being signed up for monthly auto-shipping.

Our Verdict On Revatrol

There is a lot that we like about Revatrol. We like the absence of side effects and we like that the company seems reputable and is offering a reasonable looking guarantee.

However, there are some matters for concern. We are always worried about our readers mistakenly signing up for auto billing and the layout of the sales page and the so called “preferred customer discount program” could make this extremely easy to do.

We are also less than impressed about some of the advertising claims for this supplement. There is no evidence anywhere that says that resveratrol is a way to improve sexual performance so if you are counting on this, you will be disappointed. This supplement will not make you lose weight either. There is more to weight gain in America vs. weight in France than one simple molecule in the wine!

That said, some customers have noticed physical benefits and although the clinical evidence for resveratrol is flimsy and is mainly based on animal testing or in the lab, scientists generally agree that resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant with potential health benefits. Further clinical testing may prove all kinds of positive reasons for taking resveratrol supplements but that day has not arrived yet.

This means that despite the good points about Revatrol, we cannot recommend a supplement that may do nothing at all which gives us no other option but to reject it.

Revatrol Review

Revatrol is a general health supplement that contains resveratrol as its principle ingredient. Resveratrol is an antioxidant present in red wine and it has been touted as the reason why the French are so healthy and thin despite eating a high fat diet. It is the reason why red wine is generally considered to be good for you.

Revatrol Facts

  • Each bottle contains 30 caplets – one month’s supply
  • Marketed by Florida based company Renown Health Products
  • Contains the antioxidant resveratrol as the principle ingredient

According to the Revatrol advertising, (and general belief):

people in wine-growing regions of France live 25-42% longer and experience fewer heart problems than Americans, despite lavish high-fat diets. Even though they don’t exercise at gyms, the French are slimmer, fitter and healthier than people all over the world.

The simple reason has been put down to resveratrol which the French are believed to consume in high quantities, thanks to all the wine.

How to Take Revatrol

Take one to two caplets in the morning preferably with food for optimum absorption.

Also according to the advertising, Revatrol will help maintain safe blood pressure levels, improves heart health and cholesterol levels and is good for brain power and mood.

In addition, the advertising claims that this supplement will help improve sexual health by helping increase blood flow, which will help men who suffer from sexual dysfunction.

Revatrol contains natural safe ingredients including amino acids alpha lipic acid, acetyl l Carnitine and different types of grape skin extract as well as the resveratrol content.

Revatrol Concerns:

  • No real evidence that this supplement will do anything at all
  • Customers may mistakenly sign up to auto billing. Will this be easy to cancel?
  • The advertising is very unbelievable. Can you trust this company?

Revatrol is made by Renown Health Products. This American company is based in Boca Raton, Florida, (Toll free in the U.S: 1-800-928-5210). The company seem reputable. There are no associated scam issues with this company and according to web security experts; it is safe to buy Revatrol via the product website. That said Renown Health Products do offer auto billing as a payment option so you will need to be careful if you buy from the product website and avoid the Preferred Customer Discount Program (PCDP).
Renown Health Products have an A + business rating.

Renown Health Products have a wide range of supplements including probiotic supplements to improve digestive health called Prosentials, an anti aging cream which also contains resveratrol called Youthful Allure, a men’s potency supplement (to improve erections and remedy erectile dysfunction) called Lexitrol Ultimate.

Although Renown Health Products are based in the USA, Renown products are often available in the UK and other countries outside America.

What Does Revatrol Claim To Do?

According to the Revatrol advertising, this is:

The Most Powerful Health Secret in the Universe Guaranteed to work for you, like it’s done for the French for centuries… or your money back!

The claims about resveratrol are explained,

…..to get the amount of red wine to feel major health improvements, you’d have to drink 2 to 3 glasses a day! However, a recent medical breakthrough shows there’s a healthier and easier way: Scientists have isolated the life enhancing super-antioxidant nutrient inside the red wine grape – Resveratrol. Studies suggest that resveratrol may be one of the most important supplement breakthroughs of our time!

The sexual health angle is explained too:

….your erection difficulties can quickly become a thing of the past with Revatrol. That’s because Revatrol contains 100mg of Resveratrol—the equivalent of 50 bottles of red wine!

With Revatrol, the raw, erection-boosting power of Resveratrol is now yours to command. It’s the one time you won’t mind being hit below the belt!

All these statements sound good but there is no evidence that any of them are true! We did our own research and were unable to find any firm proof or links to clinical evidence.

Does Revatrol Work?

Revatrol obviously does work for some people. A few customers have noticed health improvements over taking this supplement which is good. However there is no evidence and no mention of the effect upon male sexual performance and nobody has mentioned weight loss.

That said one customer noticed a reduction in blood pressure.

The problem with resveratrol is that nothing is strictly proven in humans. Most clinical studies have been carried out on animals or in the lab. Resveratrol may help diabetes, protect against Alzheimer’s and become an effective cancer therapy for example but none of these theories have been tested on humans. Resveratrol requires further human clinical testing and until this happens the claims around resveratrol are unproven.

As one report explains:

Very few published human studies have explored the ability of resveratrol to achieve the physiological benefits that have been observed in laboratory models, although many clinical trials have recently been initiated.

What Are The Ingredients of Revatrol?

Revatrol is a general health supplement that may help maintain heart, blood pressure and digestive health and according to the advertising, may help remedy sexual problems as well.

Serving size is equal to one caplet.

  • Resveratrol (from Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract) (100mg): More commonly known as Japanese Knotweed, the well known invasive garden weed, Ha Zhang as it is known in Chinese Medicine is used for treatments relating to circulation and heart health and is a source of Resveratrol even though Japanese knot weed does not sound as appealing as red wine!
There are numerous claims about the health benefits of Resveratrol. It is supposed to make you live longer but research has not proven this, although it does have this lifespan increasing effect in animals. Resveratrol may protect against heart disease and insulin resistance. It may help reduce the production of fat cells. It may help reduce osteoporosis and modulate blood pressure. The trouble is nothing is proven.

  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine (100mg): Amino acid which is produced by the body to help you produce energy as well as important for muscle development, heart health and more. It might be effective in improving memory problems and as a treatment against fatigue.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/acetyl-l-carnitine
  • Alpha-Lipoic Acid (100mg): Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant that the body manufactures. It is also available as a supplement. It is found in every cell of the body and where it turns glucose into energy.
“Several studies suggest alpha-Lipoic acid helps lower blood sugar levels. Its ability to kill free radicals may help people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, who have pain, burning, itching, tingling, and numbness in arms and legs from nerve damage. Researchers believe Alpha-lipoic acid helps improve insulin sensitivity.”

  • Quercetin Dihydrate (100mg): This is a bioflavonoid – a category of nutrients and very important for health. Bioflavonoids help the body absorb valuable minerals and nutrients. Quercetin Dihydrate will help the absorption of resveratrol.
  • Revatrol® Proprietary Whole Red Wine Grape Complex (100mg): This contains grape skin extract, grape seed extract and grape leaf extract. All parts of the grape contain polyphenols, micronutrients in our diet which are rich in antioxidants. “Evidence for their role in the prevention of degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases is emerging. The health effects of polyphenols depend on the amount consumed and on their bioavailability.”
