What Are The Ingredients of Onnit T+ Total Strength + Performance?

The ingredients used in Onnit T+ Total Strength + Performance are listed below.

  • BCAA (L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine): Branched chain amino-acids are used by the body as the building block for protein, which is what muscle is made from. Supplementing BCAA in adequate quantities in combination with muscle-building exercise will help build muscle mass. It may also help to prevent fatigue in novice athletes.

  • Beta Alanine: An amino-acid that may improve athletic performance.

  • L-Glutamine: An essential amino-acid which is a building block for protein (muscle).

  • Mucuna Pruriens Seed Extract: A bean-like plant that has traditionally been used in ayurvedic medicine. It is used for treating anxiety, amongst other things. However, there is little clinical evidence to support its use: the active ingredient is levodopa (l-dopa), which can affect the levels of dopamine in the brain. However, most L-dopa is broken down in the body before it can reach the brain, unless combined with specific chemicals that are not present in Mucuna Pruriens. The doses used to treat Parkinsons and other ailements are huge, often using 5 grams or more per day.

  • Longjack Root Extract: well renowned for treating erectile dysfunction and increasing libido and virility. May also decrease anxiety, and has also shown to increase power output in training trial participants in preliminary studies. Evidence that it increases testosterone levels are minimal.

  • Nettle Root Extract: A diuretic, nettle is used for treating urination problems and bloating from water retention.

  • Red Clover Flower Extract: Amongst other ingredients, red clover contains isoflavonoids and isoflavones. Isoflavones mimic estrogen effects in the body. It has also been used as a sedative, but high doses of several grams is needed to feel any effect.

  • Luteolin: a flavonoid that is found naturally-occurring in many plants, including medicinal herbs. It appears to have several potential benefits, including anti-inflammation, anti-allergy and anticancer. Research is still in the preliminary stages concerning its use and benefits.
    Source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18991571
  • Resveratrol: This ingredient is a type of polyphenol, an antioxidant, which is found naturally in the skin of red grapes, as well as some other plant sources. Resveratrol has been found to help prevent insulin resistance, and so indirectly could have implications for weight loss in some patients. However, as yet this has not been confirmed conclusively through clinical trials. It is thought that antioxidants in general promote general health and wellness.

  • Bioperine: This patented Black pepper extract is used for increasing the bioavailability of nutritional compounds. In other words, it increases the amounts of nutrients that are absorbed into the body in the digestive tract. There are numerous customer reviews for Onnit T+ Total Strength + Performance on the official website; the reviews are mixed but all customers agree on one point: it tastes horrible.

It doesn’t work – waste of time and money. Do not bother buying.

I honestly believe that this could be a great supplement for someone looking to do more strength training. But it is completely unpalatable, the natural melon flavor is disgusting. I understand making performance/optimization supplements is what Onnit’s about. But you guys should change up the flavor on this one. I’ll never buy it again.

Like all of Onnits supplements the earth grown nutrients and results I get during my training sessions are why I use this product. However if they can improve the taste it would be the complete package with regards to ere-workouts supplements. Just leaves a bad taste on the tongue.

Taste like death, but by God it works! The taste is terrible with just water. You have to cut it with juice, or another drink of your choice. Other than that, this is an excellent product when take as directed.

I switched to T+ recently and I’m extremely happy with the results. I have noticed an increase in strength and lifting ability. Going to bed at night knowing I’m going to chug this stuff down in the AM is motivating enough. That being said, it’s very hard to get it all down. I definitely plug my nose and have to wash out the taste before unplugging my nose. Since it doesn’t mix well, I got a chunk at the bottom of my shaker and gagged pretty hard trying to get it down on the first day. I definitely recommend the product, but I don’t know if I could buy another one until the taste is changed.

As much as I wanted this product to increases strength and performance it did not work for me. Taste is horrible and rough on the stomach.
