MAN or MAN Sports as the company is also called, is a US based supplements company that deals primarily with the bodybuilder market. The company is based in Texas and provides only a PO Box as the contact address, but you can buy most MAN supplements from outlets other than the official website.
MAN Sports Sweat Compound is supposed to make you sweat more during exercise. MAN have claimed this as a benefit for weight loss, but in reality if you do take part in exercise and workouts you are already sweating so why would you need a supplement in order to sweat more? It doesn’t make sense. Leaving that aside, the main component of this supplement is Genobolix Lifestyle’s Lean GBB. Genobolix is a Chinese company which has been indicted for fraud and for supplying dangerous products to supplements companies in the USA, and we urge you to stay away from anything that contains Genobolix components, such as this one.
MAN Sports Sweat Compound may contain additional undisclosed stimulants such as DMAA so effects could be unpredictable.
Potential side effects may include: sweating, palpitations, increase heart rate and blood pressure, increased risk of stroke, anxiety, and insomnia.
MAN Sports Sweat Compound is expensive and only seems to be available via the official MAN website.
1 x 30 capsule bottle contains $34.99. Shipping costs are not disclosed.
We do not rate MAN Sports Sweat Compound very highly. Even if it was totally safe, we can’t see that it would really help weight loss by increasing your L Carnitine levels. Even L Carnitine is not strictly proven to work for weight loss, so it is unlikely to be effective when taking an enzyme to increase L Carnitine. If you wanted to try L Carnitine, there are hundreds of L Carnitine supplements on the market so why go through the rigmarole of taking a precursor?
However our main concerns are are surrounding the branded supplement Lean GBB. This is made by Chinese company Genobolix, the members of which are facing lengthy jail sentences and fines for flooding the US supplements industry with illegal and undisclosed stimulants, such as DMAA. It is highly possible that MAN Sports Sweat Compound also contains similar ingredients.
Finally, this supplement is not popular. Although MAN supplements are easily available from a wide choice of retail outlets, everyone appears to have got cold feet about stocking this particular product which is very noticeable. In addition it has been similarly ignored by customers.
Overall, we do not recommend MAN Sports Sweat Compound to our readers.
MAN Sports Sweat Compound is a pre work out supplement that you use to enhance your workout, and according to the product information is designed to be used stacked with other MAN supplements such as MAN CLA powder, which we covered in a previous review.
MAN Sports Sweat Compound contains just one active ingredient. This is a branded product called Lean GBB which contains only Gamma Butyrobetaine Ethyl Ester HCI, and its role is to boost the body’s L Carnitine levels. GBB is an enzyme that according to scientists is the last step in the body’s production of L carnitine, so the idea is that taking this natural chemical as a supplement will speed up and enhance carnitine production.
L Carnitine is an amino acid which is made in the body and also obtainable by diet. It is important for weight loss and body building because it helps the body produce energy. It does this by transporting fatty acids into your cells where they can be burned for energy, so the thinking is that enhanced L carnitine will lead to increase fat burning and enhanced weight loss.
MANy people take Carnitine supplements in various forms but recently GBB (Gamma Butyrobetaine Ethyl Ester) a precursor to the body’s carnitine production has come onto the market as a branded supplement called Lean GBB which seems available only to the supplements industry.
We have major red light flashing concerns about this. Lean GBB is made by a company called Genobolix Lifestyle, who are based in China and are currently facing legal action in the USA.
The Genobolix company was indicted by the US Dept of Justice in Dallas in October 2017 for including unnamed and banned stimulants, in particular 1, 3-dimethylamylamine or DMAA in supplements for the US market. In addition, the indictment charges Genobolix, with obstruction of an agency proceeding, fraud, and smuggling.
A date for the trial has yet to be set, but it seems likely the defendants will be facing imprisonment up to 20 years and fines. This will probably not be the end of Genobolix because most of the people accused are in China, so are unlikely ever to be bought to trial. Source
Use 30 – 60 minutes prior to your workout or cardio session
MAN Sports is not the only US supplements company which uses Genobolix as a supplier. Hi Tech is also known to use Genobolix products in some of their supplements. Source
In addition to Lean GBB, MAN Sports Sweat also contains Bioperine, a black pepper compound and again a branded supplement often used in the supplements industry. Bioperine seems to increase bioavailabity of other ingredients, so is included here to make the supplement stronger without adding additional ingredients.
MAN Sports is a US company based in Texas. The address is provided as a PO Box in Mesquite Texas which is troubling, especially given the fact that the company is dealing with some very dodgy partners who are likely to be imprisoned for supplying dangerous supplements.
Most MAN supplements are on sale from online retailers such as AI Nutrition in the USA, MuscleWorx in Australia, and Power Myself in the UK. US customers can also find them on the shelves at The Vitamin Shoppe. However this supplement does not appear to be stocked by any of these outlets.
We have covered other MAN supplements in previous reviews including MAN Sports ISO-Protein, MAN CLA Powder, and MAN REM–PM, a natural sleep aid.
According to the advertising,
Sweat Compound is our newest innovation in our quickly growing weight MANagement category. Sweat Compound features novel ingredient Lean GBB or Gamma-Butyrobetaine Ethyl Ester HCL. Lean GBB is a precursor to L-Carnitine and may naturally increase the production of L-Carnitine by your body.
Increasing natural L-Carnitine not only aids in fat burning but also has the potential to enhance exercise perforMANce and recovery!
In addition “it makes you sweat like crazy”
It is supposed to be used with MAN Fat burners and other products in a stack.
As the advertising states,
“Enhance your morning cardio and ramp up the effects of your fat burner” by adding Sweat Compound in the Mix.”
There is a graph on the website that outlines the various MAN Fat Loss stacks. There are two “beginners” stacks which contain three separate products including MAN Sports Sweat Compound. The Intermediate Bad Ass Pre Cardio Stack contains four products and the Grand Daddy Fat Loss Stack comprises of five MAN supplements.
We think it is highly unlikely to work whether you take it as a standalone supplement, or use it as part of a stack.
The weight loss benefits to L Carnitine are not fully investigated and it is important to remember that Sweat Compound contains a precursor to L Carnitine so the proof is even more flaky. In addition Lean GBB, the active ingredient, comes with numerous health concerns. The company behind it is facing lengthy jail sentences and fines for MANufacturing supplements that are dangerous and do not conform to stringent US safety standards.
You would have to be mad to take this supplement. It is highly likely that it contains additional stimulants to make you sweat so that customers believe it is working.
In addition, why would you want to increase your sweat output anyway? If you are working out and training or doing cardio, your efforts are already making you build up a sweat. Why would you want more?
Serving size is equal to 1 capsule.
Effects are likely to be unpredictable and it is important to remember that Genobolix Lean GBB, the principle ingredient, does come with numerous concerns because Genobolix are known for including dangerous Chinese made stimulants such as DMAA in their products.
In addition there is zero feedback available, so we cannot bring you are real life customer experiences.
Potential side effects may include extreme stimulant side effects such as;
Caution:

Discontinue use in the case of side effects and seek medical advice. Remember to tell your doctor that you have taken an unknown supplement that may contain undisclosed ingredients and possibly DMAA.
