That’s exactly what LA Muscle Fat Buster says it does.

LA Muscle Fat Buster Overview

What You Need To Know About LA Muscle Fat Buster

LA Muscle Fat Buster is a fat burning supplement that is claimed to work in four ways: by increasing your metabolism, acting as a diuretic to flush out excess water, acting as a thermogenic to raise body temperature, and give you extra energy. It is produced by LA Muscle, a popular and established supplement brand based in London, UK.

What Are The Side Effects Of LA Muscle Fat Buster?

The product contains Synephrine (an ingredient that comes from the bitter orange fruit). This has been shown to speed up heart rate and raise blood pressure, and could lead to harmful health effects. This can be particularly problematic when taken in combination with stimulants such as caffeine (which this product contains). It has been linked to a number of serious side effects and deaths, and has been banned by many sporting authorities.

It also contains bladderwrack, which is thought to be unsafe to be taken orally. It may also contain high concentrations of iodine, which can cause or make some thyroid problems worse, and long-term intake can increase the risk of thyroid cancer. It can also contain toxic heavy metals, such as arsenic from the seawater in which it comes from.

How Much Does LA Muscle Fat Buster Cost?

LA Muscle Fat Buster costs £49.99 for a 30-day supply on the LA Muscle website. You can buy three tubs for £120. This is on the more expensive end of fat burning supplements, although LA Muscle claims that this is down to the very high raw material quality and their strict manufacturing practices.

Our Verdict On LA Muscle Fat Buster

We like LA Muscle as a company. They have a huge presence, both online and offline, often being featured and recommended in supplement and fitness magazines. They were established in 1997 and have a good reputation in the industry.

Their website is clear, informative, and they follow the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. They have a great ethos and have some excellent ethical and environmental practices – if you have more than ten plastic tubs they will come and collect them from you free of charge and recycle them on your behalf. Their contact details are all really clearly listed, even down to the Managing Director’s email address, so you can get in touch if there is a problem. We like this, and we like the company.

However, we can’t simply recommend a supplement based on how we feel about the company. As much as we wanted to like the product, it just seems to be a little bit disappointing, and not as good as we expected from LA Muscle. There are a couple of ingredients in there – the bitter orange and bladderwrack – that have some potentially nasty side effects, and the rest of the ingredients, whilst may have some small benefits, just aren’t as great as they could be. Some, like the pomegranate powder, have very little evidence to support the claims.

On this basis, we do not recommend LA Muscle Fat Burner to our readers.

What Does LA Muscle Fat Buster Claim To Do?

The manufacturers of LA Muscle Fat Buster make the following claims about the product and how it works:

“First phase: Fat Buster has diuretic abilities, ensuring water is flushed out, often making you look slimmer overnight.

Second phase: Fat Buster blocks saturated fats from getting absorbed into your body. When you take it daily, it goes to work and ensures no extra fat from the foods you eat are absorbed by your body.

Third phase: Fat Buster’s unique ingredients start metabolising fat out from deep inside your fat cells.

Fourth phase: Your body’s own thermogenic fat burning system is kicked into high gear and taken out of its lazy fat hoarding state”

They also claim that most people start to see results within four days.

Does LA Muscle Fat Buster Work?

No, we don’t think it does work. Some of the ingredients have been known to have a small effect on weight loss and fat burning, but none are particularly effective, and many of them have very little or no evidence to back up claims that they work. The product claims to have a thermogenic effect, but we can’t see any ingredients in there that are going to really do that – it needs something like chilli pepper extract in there to have a much greater effect.

What Are The Ingredients of LA Muscle Fat Buster?

  • Citrus Aurantium (Octopamine) (100 mg): This is also known as bitter orange. Researchers at the Gyeongsang National University, South Korea studied the fat burning abilities of the ingredient and found that it is indeed an effective fat burner. However, it contains synephrine, a stimulant that has been banned by some sporting authorities. It has an effect upon adrenaline and can put your body into a stressed fight or flight response. This response raises the heart rate and increases blood pressure, which is potentially dangerous.
  • Pomegranate Powder (80 mg): Dried and powdered pomegranate hasn’t been researched very much. However, pomegranate juice has been linked with lowered blood sugar levels and reduced weight gain compared to a placebo in one study in obese participants.
  • ● Green Tea Extract 4:1 40% Polyphenols (50 mg): Green tea is high in a group of antioxidants called catechins. Studies have suggested that catechins and caffeine both increase the amount of calories burned by boosting the metabolism temporarily. However, the metabolic increase caused by green tea is fairly limited.
  • Guarana Extract 4:1 22% Caffeine (50 mg): This is a berry that is naturally high in caffeine, and is often found in energy drinks and diet pills. Many studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as boosting the metabolism, causing a small increase in the number of calories used by the body.
  • L-Carnitine (50 mg): This is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative that’s often taken as a weight loss supplement. It helps transport fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they can be burned for energy. More research is needed to confirm these benefits, however, and effects are likely to be small.
  • L-Tyrosine (50 mg): This is an amino acid, which you can obtain through diet if you are a meat eater. It is believed to help training and is popular with bodybuilders for this reason. L Tyrosine raises adrenaline levels. This amino acid is believed to stimulate brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine, and is sometimes taken to treat depression. Research suggests that taking 150mg will improve alertness after missing a night’s sleep for around three hours. This product contains considerably less than that.
  • Bladderwrack Powder (30 mg): Bladderwrack is a type of seaweed. It is used for many conditions, but, so far, there isn’t enough scientific evidence to determine whether or not it is effective for any of them. It’s also important to note that it’s not safe to take bladderwrack by mouth. Source
  • Ginger Root Powder (10 mg): This is a well known culinary ingredient with many benefits for health. One of these is that it helps with stomach upsets and nausea.

Does LA Muscle Fat Buster Have Any Side Effects?

The product contains Synephrine (an ingredient that comes from the bitter orange fruit). This can speed up users heart rate and raise blood pressure, leading to some harmful health effects, especially taken in combination with stimulants such as caffeine. It has been linked to a number of serious side effects and deaths and has been banned by many sporting authorities.

It also contains bladderwrack, which is thought to be unsafe to be taken by mouth. It may also contain high concentrations of iodine, which can cause or make some thyroid problems worse.

Caution:
As with all supplements, do not use without consulting a doctor if you have an existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication. Do not use if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For LA Muscle Fat Buster?

There are plenty of reviews on the LA Muscle website for the product and all seem to be positive. We always take ‘official’ ones with a pinch of salt though. We cannot find any reviews for it elsewhere on the internet.

Have been using this for couple of weeks now. Really pleased with the results. I have been struggling to shift a ‘middle age spread’ and no matter what I tried it wasn’t working. Finally something that actually works, have lost a few pounds now and hopefully I’ll loose a few more. Definitely recommend
