What You Need To Know About Kat-a-lyst Glutacor

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor is a glutamine supplement in powder form that you add to your usual protein shake, and if you are a serious bodybuilder looking to shred and shape up for competition it may offer some support.

However this supplement is expensive compared to other glutamine powders on the market and this combined with a lack of customer feedback and product information, spoils the overall good impression of this supplement.

What Are The Side Effects Of Kat-a-lyst Glutacor?

Side effects are unlikely but you are advised to consult your physician before you start taking this supplement.

How Much Does Kat-a-lyst Glutacor Cost?

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor is expensive and because it only seems to be available via Nutrishop, you cannot shop around for price. In fact it is even hard to see the price if you are buying online because you have to sign up to Nutrishop for an account before this information is even available.

According to our Watchdog spies, 1 x 850g tub (100 servings) costs $49.99. At the time of writing Kat-a-lyst was advertised as being on sale via Amazon but although the advert is in place it lacks any information regarding price. Perhaps this will change in the future?

Our Verdict On Kat-a-lyst Glutacor

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor looks to be a good quality glutamine supplement and if you are looking for this ingredient in particular, it looks like a reasonable choice. True, it is expensive but with 100 servings per container, plus additional ingredients you do get more for your money than with many other glutamine powders on the market.

However we have some concerns. It is hard to buy unless you are willing to sign up to the Nutrishop store first and this seems very unnecessary. Why is this obligatory before you buy? Other supplement retailers do not require this, and in our opinion is extremely likely to make people give up and look elsewhere. Although you can buy by visiting one of the Nutrishop outlets, these are not that widespread across the USA.

Possibly because of this sales policy, there is practically no customer feedback for Kat-a-lyst Glutacor and the lack of product information is a just plain unhelpful to customers. In addition, we would have liked to know more about Kat-a-lyst Nutraceuticals because although this information may not be very relevant, the fact that the company to all intents and purposes is hidden makes us suspicious.

Finally glutamine supplements are not suitable or even necessary for everyone. Experts consider that unless you have a special reason for using, you don’t really need additional glutamine. In our opinion, this makes this supplement pretty niche so although it does not look too bad, there are just too many niggling issues about it to make us recommend this supplement.

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor Review

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor is a supplement that you add to a supplement! This glutamine powdered supplement is designed to be added to a protein shake, in order to encourage what the advertising describes as lean muscle gain.

Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body. Amino acids are described as the building blocks of protein and these organic compounds are crucial for life. Over 20% of the body is composed of amino acids – many of which are made by the body itself.

Glutamine is manufactured in the muscles where it is then delivered by the blood to the parts of the body that need it. It has many roles in the body and is often taken to counter muscle wasting diseases, digestive issues, nerve pain and many other purposes.

According to some bodybuilders, glutamine is very important in training because it increases the body’s ability to build muscle, improves strength and helps the body burn fat at a fast rate.

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor Facts

  • Zero information about Kat-a-lyst Nutraceuticals, the so called company behind this supplement
  • Each tub of Glutacor contains enough for 100 servings
  • Sold exclusively via Nutrishop – a US franchise with branches across the USA

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor contains five forms of Glutamine.

These are glutamine peptide – the type of glutamine that is bonded to other amino acids which makes it more easily absorbed by the body. It contains glutamine AKG (alpha ketoglutarate) which acts as a precursor to the brain chemical glutamate, a neuro transmitter which is important for the chemical messengers in the body.

There is Glutamine Malate, which is glutamine combined with Malate (malic acid) which will improve bioavailability. There is N Acetyl Glutamine a water soluble version of Glutamine in the form of a branded product called Sustamine.

Although these five forms of Glutamine are essentially the same ingredient, in these different forms the effects should kick in at varying times following ingestion.

As well as glutamine, Kat-a-lyst Glutacor contains a range of other amino acids mainly based around Leucine. In addition, it contains GlycoCarn a L carnitine supplement. L Carnitine is an amino acid derived from meat as well as manufactured in the body and is important for regulating energy levels.

There is also a blend of electrolytes to deliver vital mineral salts to the body which may have been lost by sweat during exercise.

How to Take Kat-a-lyst Glutacor

As a dietary supplement, mix 1 scoop, 2-3 times per day with your favourite protein shake.

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor comes from a company called Kat-A-Lyst Nutraceuticals. We can find nothing out at all about this company and even the official company website gives nothing away. According to the product information Kat-a-lyst supplements are manufactured in the USA so they should conform to GMP (good manufacturing practice) although this fact is not actually stated.

Kat-a-lyst Glutacor Concerns:

  • Lack of product information
  • Not easy to buy
  • Why is there so little customer feedback? Does it indicate that this supplement is unpopular with customers?

Kat-a-lyst seems to be exclusively on sale from NutriShop a franchise supplements store operating across the USA. The stores sell all the major supplements brands and it is possible that NutriShop also has a hand in the manufacture of Kat-a-lyst although this is not stated.

The Kat-a-lyst brand is all about training and body building. We covered Adicor in a previous review but considered it was potentially dangerous to health.

What Does Kat-a-lyst Glutacor Claim To Do?

There is very little information about this supplement and we feel that this is extremely unhelpful to customers. Most of the claims are written on the container where it is described as a

Multi-Phase Glutamine Based Formula

A multi-phase Glutamine based formula that includes 5 forms of glutamine, Essential Amino Acids, Electrolytes, Sustamine™ and GlycoCarn®

Does Kat-a-lyst Glutacor Work?

It is hard to find any reports from customers who have actually taken this supplement. According to one man who bought it from his local Nutrishop after it was recommended by staff, it did help recovery following exercise. He felt that adding it to his protein shakes minimised sore muscles. Many bodybuilders and athletes recommend using glutamine for gains but this does not necessarily mean that it has to be this supplement or that it even works as well as it is claimed.

Glutamine levels are depleted by intensive exercise and this important amino acid has numerous health benefits such as maintaining hydration and helping recovery of cells. According to bodybuilders, glutamine is ideal for helping fat loss without losing muscle so is ideal if you are in a cutting phase.

That said not all experts agree. Many body building experts agree that effects can be unnoticeable and unless you are really struggling with recovery or are building up to a contest, this ingredient is simply unnecessary for most lifters.

That said Kat-a-lyst Glutacor may be worth a try if you are training intensively and of course, you do get the additional benefit of the additional ingredients such as GlycoCarn.

What Are The Ingredients of Kat-a-lyst Glutacor?

Serving size is equal to 1 x 8.3g scoop of powder.

3 Phase Complex:

  • Phase 1 AG Complex: This part of the formula contains ; Glutamine Peptide , Glutamine AKG, Glutamine Malate, N Acetyl L Glutamine, Sustamine- L Alanyl L Glutamine. These different forms of glutamine including the branded supplement Sustamine give the supplement what is described as a multi phase delivery. Most experts agree that a combination of Glutamine Peptide and L Glutamine (Sustamine) is the most efficient way of delivery because it helps stabilise the effects in the body and encourages a faster absorption.
    Source: https://www.muscletalk.co.uk/articles/article-glutamine.aspx
  • Phase 2 AEL Complex: This is composed of two formulas.
EAAs ( L Glycine, L Lysine, L Isoleucine, L Valine, L Phenyl line, L Histidine, L Threonine, L Methionine : These essential amino acids are so called because the body needs them but cannot manufacture themselves so they have to be consumed by diet.Advanced Leucine Blend: L Leucine, GlycoCarn, USP Leucine, Alpha Keoglurate, L Leucine Ketocasproic acid and calcium. Leucine is a branched chain amino acid (BCCA or branched chain refers to the molecular shape). It is the principle BCCA and it is supposed to promote muscle protein synthesis as well as reduce blood sugar levels. It is usually taken in serving size of between 2000- 5000mg. It may be effective but there is no real evidence that L Leucine does cause increased muscle growth as is usually claimed
    Source: https://examine.com/supplements/leucine/
  • Phase 3 TBC Complex: Taurine, Beta Glucan, N Acetyl Cysteine. L Taurine and N Acetyl Cysteine are both amino acids which have health benefits. Although Taurine is no longer proven for energy levels it may help heart health. L Cysteine is sometimes used as an antidote to poisoning; Beta Glucan is a sugar in bacteria and may have a cholesterol lowering effect.
  • Electrolyte Blend: Di Sodium Chloride, Di Potassium Phosphate, Di Calcium carbonate, magnesium chelate: When the body becomes dehydrated such as following exercise, vital salts can be lost by sweat. This part of the formula may help support rehydration.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Kat-a-lyst Glutacor?

There are no customer feedback comments on the official website, however we did find a couple of reviews left by customers on a general supplements review site.
One customer was unreservedly pleased,

Hands down, this has been the best recovery supplement I’ve tried….. I’m not sure how it compares to other stand alone Glutamine supps in terms of price. But then again, Glutacor is more than just a glutamine supp; it also has a Leucine based recovery complex, and a solid electrolyte blend… Overall, if you’re a serious lifter or athlete, I highly recommend adding glutamine into your supplement regimen.

The other review was also mainly positive

Wow… I’ve never felt the power & recovery that I felt that week…(but) It doesn’t mix well at all and there’s no way you’d ever want to drink this stuff without 1st mixing into your protein….
It tastes kind of funny/chalky but you’ll feel the gains when you get the proper dosage down.

  1. I was pretty shocked that Glutacor was rated so low.
I’ve used this product on and off for a number of years and can attest for the effectiveness across a variety of disciplines such as weightlifting and even pro-cycling. I’ve tried many Glutamine blends and L-Glutamine derivatives but none work as well as Glutacor’s. I run 3 month tests at a time, and my best wattage outputs and recovery times are in conjunction with this specific blend. I recommend checking this product out again and viewing some of the studies with Glutamine’s effects on the brain, immune system and toxin fighting. For instance, I suffer from an auto-immune disease named Morphea Scleroderma and this product significantly counteracts the nausea that follows high doses of Methotrexate, the main chemotherapy treatment for my condition. Additionally, this blend contains simple things like Taurine and other goodies that help protect your brains Glutamine receptors and prevents your brain from reaching toxic levels of Glutamate, thus continuing the Glutamine-Glutamate cycle. I would go as far as to say that this product really is necessary for everybody. I am in no way affiliated with Nutrishop and could give two-fucks about brands. I also really hate writing reviews, but this product fucking rocks.
