There are no scientific studies to confirm these claims though.

Intek Protein Evolution certainly provides you with protein from different sources, but the thing is that there is no need to get protein from so many sources in supplement form when you can easily get it from dietary sources. Many people just cannot use this supplement because they are allergic to eggs and it contains egg protein. It contains L-taurine and BCCA complex, but you can get it from food sources – you do not need a lot of it anyway. You also get B-vitamins, fibre, and minerals, but you will be better off using a multivitamin supplement with your regular protein supplement to support your muscle without having to break the bank. What makes it unique is that it gets protein from different sources and combines them all to provide you with some amazing benefits. You may be thinking it is better than other protein supplements or even dietary sources of protein, but that is not the case actually. Here is why we think you should avoid Intek Protein Evolution and instead pay attention to your diet to get more protein as well as other essential nutrients.
Intek Protein Evolution provides you with whey protein, which is actually considered a better form of protein as compared to other protein types. However, you may need to get a lot more than what you get from every serving of Intek Protein Evolution. Whey protein is certainly a popular option, but there is no real evidence that it is better than other protein sources. Here are some studies to confirm:
Whey protein (0.3g/kg), when compared against the placebo of carbohydrates (0.2g/kg) with a diet already surplus in protein failed to enhance muscle protein synthesis more than carbohydrates over 8 weeks of training. Protein supplementation in trained men (42g around the workout or in the morning/evening with 2g carbohydrates) failed to find evidence (either between groups or relative to control) for improving fat mass, lean mass, or power output (intervention groups had 2.16-2.28g/kg protein intake, control had 1.58g/kg).
The supplement also provides you with egg protein, which is supposed to make this supplement better, but it does not … at least for people who are allergic to it. Eggs can trigger allergic reactions in many people, and this would lead to side effects such as bloating, gas, distress, and other GI symptoms. Increasing your intake of egg protein may make your gas more noxious, which is another reason why many people avoid it in the first place and rely more on whey protein.
Intek Protein Evolution also provides you with calcium caseinate, which is actually casein protein. There are studies suggesting that a combination of whey and casein may actually prove beneficial.
A recent study compared the effects of supplementing with either a combination whey and casein protein versus carbohydrates on several markers of muscle anabolism during strength training. Untrained men participated in a 10-week resistance training program and either supplemented with 40 grams of carbohydrate or 40 grams of protein containing a mixture of whey and casein. Half of the supplements were consumed one hour before and then immediately after exercise on workout days. The results were overwhelmingly positive for the combination protein group. Despite similar background diets and identical training programs, supplementation with protein resulted in greater increases in several measures of muscle anabolism, including greater increases in lean muscle mass, thigh muscle mass, muscle strength, anabolic hormones and muscle specific proteins.
While the difference was not that significant, you may still get better results by combining both casein and whey. Intek Protein Evolution does just that, but it may not provide you with enough of both in per serving. Moreover, you can easily find many other supplements that provide you with protein from different sources. This is when the manufacturer tries to get your attention by adding L-taurine, BCCA complex, and colostrum to the mix. Does this make this supplement any better? We do not think so really.

For best results take before and after workouts to ensure a positive nitrogen balance during workouts and proper recovery after workouts.
Taurine is an amino acid found in the brain and heart. You can get it through many food sources, including fish and meat. While taurine is often used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and even ADHD, there is not sufficient scientific data to confirm that supplementing with taurine will help you build muscles quickly. The reason is that unlike other amino acids, taurine does not link with the building blocks of protein. It actually functions more as an antioxidant in the body. It means that supplementing with taurine may prevent any damage caused by oxidation, but it is not going to help build muscle like other forms of amino acids.
It is important to note that taurine is generally safe, but there are cases where supplementing with taurine led to serious side effects. There is actually a report of brain damage in an individual who took about 14g of taurine with anabolic steroids. It is not clear exactly what caused the reaction, but it is still a good idea to avoid taking too much of taurine because it can affect your kidneys as well.
Another issue is that even if you think that taurine works, you may not be getting enough from Intek Protein Evolution. There is no mention of exactly how much taurine is there in the blend. Most studies show that you are likely to see some results only when you take more than 500 mg of taurine a day – some companies even recommend 3,000 mg of taurine daily to see results. We really do not know if Intek Protein Evolution is going to provide you with enough or not.
The same holds true in case of BCCA complex. You certainly get a variety of branched-chain amino acids from Intek Protein Evolution, but there is no information about how much is there in each serving. The thing is that you should not be buying this supplement because it provides you with BCCA complex. You can easily get these amino acids from food. In fact, more than 15% of the protein in beef and chicken comes from BCCAs. If you get 25g of protein from chicken, you will also get about 4g of BCCAs. You already get enough BCCAs from whey protein, so there is no need to include BCCA complex in the mix.
Many people believe that a supplement with BCCAs is a better choice because it provides enough of leucine, which promotes protein synthesis better than other types of amino acids. It is important to note that leucine showed some promise in early studies only. Most of those studies only measured short-term changes in muscle after taking leucine. But, supplementing with leucine is not that effective in promoting muscle mass over longer periods of time. Here is what scientists say:
Studies in both elderly humans and rodents subjected to free leucine supplementation have shown that such supplementations indeed acutely improved muscle protein balance after food intake by increasing muscle protein synthesis and decreasing muscle proteolysis in the postprandial state. However, the few chronic studies conducted with such free leucine supplementations did not succeed in promoting an increase in muscle mass.
Now, let’s talk about another ingredient found in Intek Protein Evolution. It is colostrum, which is also called first milk. Studies have shown that it works no better than whey protein. It means that if you are already taking enough whey protein, which is true in case of Intek Protein Evolution, you do not really need colostrum. It is also not clear how much of colostrum protein is available in each serving of Intek Protein Evolution. You should be getting more than 20g/day to see effects, and that does not seem to be the case with Intek Protein Evolution. Some studies have found positive results, but the difference is never significant. For instance:
Supplementation of either 60g whey protein, 60g colostrum, or a combination of 20g colostrum with 40g whey, in elite cyclists over the course of eight weeks noted that performance on a weighted cycling test (similar to Wingate) failed to have any difference between groups (despite all groups improving by about 4% relative to baseline) although in a 2-hour endurance test there was an improvement of 132s and 158s in the colostrum groups (difference not significant) which were both greater than the whey only group at 37s.
Finally, you get a combination of B-vitamins, fibre, and minerals, but again, you can get it from any other multivitamin supplement, and with a much lower price tag. It is important to note that Intek Protein Evolution is never an affordable way to increase your intake of protein. You have to pay up to over $70 for a 5-pound container, which may seem to be an affordable deal until you start using it. You will be taking to scoops thrice a day to get enough protein, but this would make you buy 2–3 containers per month. Why would you want to spend this much of money when you can easily get good quality protein from dietary sources and other protein supplements? So, do not let those false marketing claims deceive you and avoid wasting money on Intek Protein Evolution.
