Androdiol comes from Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, a well-known name in the supplements world. Hi-Tech supplements have a reputation for being strong but this company has had numerous run ins with the FDA over the inclusion of dangerous ingredients in some of their many products.
Hi-Tech Androdiol is a prohormone supplement that is legal in the USA. The advertising says that it will increase testosterone levels and help improve muscle gains but there is very little real proof that it will work in the way as described. Unless you are actively searching for a prohormone there seems to be little point in taking it and many experts believe that taking prohormones is the slippery slope to steroid abuse.
Even if you are a fan of prohormones, the best that we can say about this one, is that it is currently legal. However, it does not seem very effective and judging by the absence of customer feedback is certainly not very popular either.
Potential side effects may include; increase in aggression, mood swings, increase in acne, nausea and vomiting, changes to libido and sexual performance, likely to cause prostate problems later in life, headaches, dizziness, breast enlargement, hypertension, liver damage with prolonged use.
Hi-Tech Androdiol is expensive. Buy from the Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals website and 1 x bottle containing 60 capsules costs $89.95.
You can shop around for a better price elsewhere. The usual retail price seems to be $59.99 but we have seen it on sale for $54.99.
We are not impressed with Hi-Tech Androdiol. Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals has past form in selling dangerous supplements that contain dodgy ingredients and prohormones fit into this category. In addition, this particular prohormone does not look impressive. There is very little real customer feedback available and it is impossible to find any clinical analysis for 4 DHEA to prove it will work in the way as described. In addition, Hi-Tech Androdiol is expensive and does not come backed with a guarantee.
We won’t beat around the bush; we don’t like prohormones and would not recommend them to any of our readers. Even if we did like prohormones, we would not advise anyone to use this one. The bodybuilder community is tight knit and likes to pass on information about training and supplements, yet is remaining pretty silent on this one.
Hi-Tech Androdiol is a relatively new supplement on the market and according to the product information is one of the most potent legal formulas on the market.
The principle ingredient is a prohormone compound called 4-androstene-3b-ol, 17-one decanoate, sometimes referred to as 4 DHEA.
Prohormones are popular with bodybuilders because they can cause massive gains in muscle and testosterone. They inhabit a grey area legally because although they are not Technically hormones, they are chemical compounds that enhance the action of the corresponding hormones in the body.
Put simply, instead of taking testosterone (which is illegal) you give your body a precursor to testosterone so that your body produces more testosterone itself.
Anabolic steroids are illegal. However, some types of prohormones are still legal in some countries. The manufacturers tend to keep ahead of the law by tweaking existing formulas to create new compounds in order to get around the law once a prohormone compound has been made illegal.
4 DHEA is an example of this. It is a legal prohormone that will help the body create testosterone without also causing an increase in oestrogen levels.
As well as 4 DHEA, Androdiol also contains 5a Hydroxy Laxogenin Acetate a plant based anabolic compound discovered in the 1960s, which according to some users has a muscle and testosterone boosting affect similar to Anavar.
The ingredients profile looks very similar to another Hi-Tech prohormone supplement called 1 AD, the subject of a DPWD review, and some retailers advise stacking the two products for best results.
Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals is based in Georgia, USA. The company manufacture and market their own supplements and also sell via many of the bodybuilding supplement retailers such as GNC and Lucky Vitamin.
Hi-Tech Pharmaceutical are well known (notorious) for the use of controversial and illegal ingredients in their supplements and have had numerous run ins with the FDA. In 2013, US marshalls acting on behalf of the FDA seized $2 million in supplements from Hi-Tech that contained the controversial and now banned stimulant ingredient DMAA (1,3-Dimethylamylamine).
We have covered numerous Hi-Tech supplements before and it is apparent that this company walk a fine line between legal and illegal. These include Jack’d Up, and HydroxyElite, two dangerous supplements that still contain the now banned stimulant DMAA.
We don’t know how Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals have been getting away with all these legal contraventions for so long.
According to the product information Hi-Tech Androdiol has four key benefits;
The advertising explains how the supplement works,
“Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals brand new Androdiol® brings to market the most potent, patented, legal bodybuilding prohormone and testosterone booster available today.”
“Androdiol® utilizes 4-androstene-3b-ol, 17-one, which has been shown to be very effective by itself. Hi-Tech then massively improves delivery via a specially processed Androdiol®, which results in a Cyclosome Delivery System for maximum oral absorption and bioavailability.”
Cyclosome Delivery? This is the formation of the capsule as far as we can see which encourages absorption of the prohormones. In truth, the explanation about how this is pretty much unreadable but apparently the vital components of this prohormone are delivered to your body without being destroyed by the liver.
The information states,
“Androdiol® is recognized as the Andro leader because it won’t directly aromatize to Estrogen and doesn’t convert to DHT or its derivatives. Hi-Tech’s Cyclosome™ Technology makes the active prohormones — like 4 androstene-3b-ol, 17-one — almost completely absorbable, creating an extreme anabolic environment in the body.”
An “extreme anabolic environment” suggests that this supplement puts your body into extreme muscle building mode.
It is hard to find much information about Androdiol written by people who have actually taken this supplement. Many of the bodybuilder websites who are selling this product, say it is effective and will lead to good muscle gains and all the usual so called benefits of a testosterone prohormone such as improved sex drive but in truth we cannot say for sure.
If you are looking for a prohormone, it will probably work as well as others on the market. However, safety is never a concern for hardened bodybuilders who will take just about anything in order to get results and the fact that prohormones are banned in so many countries suggests that this practice is unsafe.
Even in the USA, most prohormones are banned and this is the reason why Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals keep tweaking their formulas and creating new products in order to stay ahead of the law.
In addition, it is hard to find out any real medical evidence that supports the claims made by legions of bodybuilders that taking prohormones is good for muscle building and strength.
Serving size is equal to one capsule.
We have not managed to find any customer feedback for Hi-Tech Androdiol so we cannot bring you true life experiences of taking this supplement. However taking prohormones can be dangerous to health.
Potential side effects may include
Not suitable for individuals under 21. Avoid if you are pregnant, breast feeding or trying to conceive. Do not take if you have any underlying medical conditions or are taking prescription medication. Speak to your physician before using this supplement.
There are lots of outlets selling Hi-Tech Androdiol and most claim that this supplement is popular, with advertising making claims such as
“Customers love Androdiol because of not only the results they get from it, but it doesn’t aromatize to estrogen, so you won’t get those nasty side effects that other prohormones can bring. It also doesn’t convert to DHT, so you are going to get far less side effects like hair loss, which are common with other prohormones on the market today.”
The strange thing for such a supposedly loved supplement is that customer reviews seem few and far between. That said we have found a couple of customer comments such as,
I’ve only been using this product for a few weeks and at 62 I didn’t want puffy muscles. My bench has gone up, I had enough energy to get a second workout in the afternoon at first. Now I’ve doubled my workload in the morning 10 sets of bi’s and tri’s to 20 sets in less time. I’ve seen no negative effects and I retain a pump which didn’t used to happen. I was told this might make me jittery, but that has not happened.
Only have used this a short time, but already notice strength, and fuller size. Now I have been a bodybuilder for last 2.6 years, so my workouts are a bit insane……hence the noticeable change. You have to put the time in, but this def is good stuff.
These are good reviews and seem genuine but it is important to note that both came from men who had only been using a short time. In addition, just two reviews is very unimpressive for a so called “loved” supplement.
There is no money back guarantee for Hi-Tech Androdiol.
