What You Need To Know About Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout

Alpha Gx7 is a pre-workout supplement that is designed to help increase strength, reduce muscle soreness, build muscle mass faster, and increase energy levels.

Alpha Gx7 is available in several different flavours, including cherry, blue raspberry, fruit punch, and watermelon. The supplement contains several stimulant ingredients, including a significant dosage of caffeine, and yohimbe which can cause a range of side effects.

What Are The Side Effects Of Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout?

There are numerous ingredients found in Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout that could cause a range of side effects.

Consuming large quantities of caffeine can lead to headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness, and insomnia. Theobromine works in a similar way to caffeine, and so could cause similar side effects, but it is milder.

L-Carnitine can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures. It can also cause the urine, breath, and sweat to have a “fishy” odour.

Citrulline Malate can cause an upset stomach in some people, but this is less likely if taken on an empty stomach.

Mucuna Pruriens can cause a range of side effects including nausea, bloating and stomach discomfort, vomiting, insomnia, headache, pounding heartbeat, and symptoms of psychosis including confusion, agitation, hallucinations, and delusions.

Yohimbe can also cause a wide range of side effects, including stomach upset, excitation, tremor, sleep problems, anxiety or agitation, high blood pressure, a racing heartbeat, dizziness, stomach problems, drooling, sinus pain, irritability, headache, frequent urination, bloating, rash, nausea, and vomiting. High doses can cause more severe effects.

How Much Does Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout Cost?

Alpha Gx7 can be purchased from Vitamin Bounty, the manufacturer’s official website, where a single tub costs $29.99 plus delivery charges.

Alpha Gx7 can also be purchased from Amazon, where a single tub costs $29.99 plus delivery charges.

Each tub contains 30 servings; if taking one scoop per day, a tub will last for 30 days of use.

Our Verdict On Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout

Overall we have a mixed opinion of Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout. There are lots of promising ingredients that could help to improve and support various aspects of a workout. However, the product is far from perfect.

This supplement contains a significant dosage of caffeine (250 mg, which is roughly the same amount as that found in 2 to 2.5 cups of coffee). This makes it quite likely that side effects will develop, especially as there are also two other stimulant ingredients found in the formula. We recommend initially testing a half-scoop serving to assess personal tolerance, and removing other sources of caffeine from your diet. The manufacturers state that you should not take more than two scoops per day, but we recommend keeping your daily dose to a maximum of one scoop. Taking this supplement in the late afternoon or evening is likely to disrupt sleep patterns.

Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout is not covered by a money-back guarantee. The supplement costs about a dollar per serving, making it quite reasonably priced.

Customers can choose from a range of flavours. Most are well received by customers.

Overall, we do not recommend Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout to our readers.

Does Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout Work?

Caffeine can increase energy levels, which is obviously useful in a pre-workout supplement. Caffeine also helps to increase the metabolic rate of the body slightly, helping to burn calories. Yohimbe is also a stimulant, but studies suggest that it is not very effective at aiding weight loss, and it can cause a long list of unpleasant side effects, including increased aggression and mood changes.

Arginine is thought to increase Nitric Oxide production in the body, which in turn increases blood flow by causing vasodilation in blood vessels. However, Arginine is absorbed very poorly by the body, and studies are incredibly mixed as to whether Arginine supplementation actually works or not. AAKG has improved absorption compared with L-Arginine.

Citrulline is converted into Arginine in the kidneys and has a much better absorption rate than Arginine, to the point where Citrulline is able to increase levels of plasma arginine more effective than arginine itself.

Beta-alanine can help to increase strength and power, helping to maximise performance in the gym. Tingling muscles are a good indicator that it is working and has been dosed correctly for you.

Overall, the ingredients used in Alpha Gx7 do seem to help support various elements of a good workout, but we are not happy about the high quantity of caffeine, which could prohibit some people from taking the product. Obviously taking a smaller serving would help to prevent stimulant-based side effects, but it would also lower the serving of the other incredibly useful ingredients.

What Are The Ingredients of Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout?

The ingredients found in Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout are detailed below. Ingredient quantities listed are per serving of a single scoop.

  • Niacin 5 mg (25% RDA)
  • Beta-Alanine (as CarnoSyn) 2000 mg: Beta-alanine has been repeatedly proven to raise the levels of muscle carnosine in the human body, which has the effect of increasing the amount of work athletes can perform in high-intensity workouts. Its use is accompanied by a distinctive “tingling” sensation in the muscles. Source
  • Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate 1500 mg: Also known as Arginine AKG, this is a form of Arginine. Alpha-Ketoglutarate salt is intended to increase intestinal uptake compared with L-Arginine. Arginine is an essential amino acid which is plentiful in foods and can be made by the body. Important for wound healing and circulation, l-arginine is thought to boost the levels of Nitric Oxide in the body. Source
  • Citrulline Malate 1500 mg: L-Citrulline is thought to increase l-arginine levels in the body, which in turn widens the blood vessels and increases blood flow to the muscles. Source
  • L-Carnitine 750 mg: There is some evidence that supplementation of acetyl-l-carnitine can reduce body fat, although the strongest results were seen in the elderly. The ingredient also boosts energy levels, and is used to treat fatigue. Source
  • Mucuna L-Dopa 20% 450 mg: A bean-like plant that has traditionally been used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is used for treating anxiety, amongst other things. However, there is little clinical evidence to support its use; the active ingredient is levodopa (l-dopa), which can affect the levels of dopamine in the brain. However, most L-dopa is broken down in the body before it can reach the brain, unless combined with specific chemicals that are not present in Mucuna Pruriens. Source
  • Taurine 400 mg: Taurine is an amino acid that helps to build protein. It is not often known why it is so frequently added to energy drinks, although some claim that it helps improve athletic and mental performance. Source
  • Caffeine 250 mg: Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism, causing a small increase in the number of calories used by the body. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive. Source
  • Theobromine 100 mg: Theobromine is a mild stimulant that is similar to caffeine, but it appears to be much milder than caffeine. Source
  • Yohimbe HCl 3 mg: Some studies have noticed increased blood concentrations of free fatty acids in participants who use yohimbine extract, suggesting increased rates of lipolysis. However, the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database has stated that there is insufficient evidence to claim it aids in weight loss. Source

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout?

There are over 2700 reviews for Alpha Gx7 Pre-workout on Amazon, where the product is sold, with an average rating of 4.4 out of five. Whilst the reviews are generally very positive, the authenticity rating on fakespot.com suggests that some of the customer reviews are suspicious or fake.

Not for me. I did take a double scoop the first time I tried it because I’m used to stimulants, but it made me feel horrible. Waited a week, then took 3/4 of a scoop. Not near as bad as the first time I tried it, but still felt like crap. I’ve tried numerous preworkouts over the years and this is the 1st one that’s made me feel like this.

Let me preface this with: I’m a 5’6, 130lb female and do not regularly consume caffeine. I took the recommended 1 scoop 30 min before my workout. The taste was fine but after about 20 minutes I started feelings pins and needles in my fingers. The reviews said this was normal. However, after my workout (which felt pretty normal — I didn’t experience any of the advertised boosts in energy) my heart was still racing and I felt extremely nauseous and shaky. My stomach felt extremely unsettled and it took about 6 hours for it to wear off.

It made my whole body itch and tingle which was very awkward and unpleasant. I’ve never had a reaction like this with anything. Buyer beware there are no returns!

Amazing!!! This stuff really works. *03/01/2017* I spoke too soon. Not take this with a grain of salt. I took it did an army pt test and dropped to the ground and landed in the ER. If you are on certain meds this will mess you up. Best to talk to your doctor before taking at all

I’ve been using this for 2 weeks now, about every other day. I get a nice little energy kick plus good sustained endurance to complete my workouts. Also I get a really nice pump which I wasn’t expecting. Almost as much as I used to get with the original Jack3d formula (which is now banned). The watermelon tastes really good. I don’t get jittery or edgy from this, and no itchy face syndrome either. If the energy burst was a little stronger this would be 5 stars.

I’ve used Alpha GX7 (watermelon) before every workout since May 24 (it’s now July 25).
I stuck with the single scoop dose and it seemed effective without any side effects.
It takes about 15-20min for it to start working (i know it’s in my system with I get the tingles).
I find that I sweat more and have better focus and mental clarity.
I lift 3-4 times a week with cardio thrown in 2-3 days.
I take it before my evening workouts (5:30-8:30 range) and do not have any trouble with sleeping. (I can generally drink a can of Mt. Dew before bed and don’t have trouble)
The taste is really good, no complaints. It mixes pretty well, though there is some residual that collects at the bottom when allowed to sit. (I mix it with hot water, 7-8oz, and give it a good shaking to mix it up.) Just shake good, consume, shake, consume, and you’ll be good.
